Introducing Antarctica

Antarctica, also known as ‘The White Continent’, is possibly the most exciting and unique destination that any of us could ever explore! It is also the southern most continent in the world and is made up of 98% ice, which averages at least 1 mile in thickness. The only word that can describe Antarctica is: epic!

Antarctica offers the ultimate holiday destination in my opinion and is truly a once in a lifetime experience. That is why we appreciate you have to get the trip 100% right, which is where we come in. We can give you tailored advice to ensure you choose the right cruise to explore this incredible continent.

To get you started, here are our three favourite cruise ships:

MS Expedition

The MS Expedition is small ship offering a more exclsuive cruising experience. Accommodation is in charming luxury cabins each featuring ocean-view windows or portholes and private en-suite facilities. Set sail from Ushuaia and cruise along the Drake Passage before exploring the Antarctic Peninsula and surrounding islands including the Falklands and South Shetlands. From the ship you are able to explore the Antarctic close-up by taking a Zodiac boat or kayak out on the waters. Plus spend the night on the ice to the sound of the creaking ice and a star-studded sky.

MV Ocean Nova

The first air cruise to Antarctica! MV Ocean Nova is an excellent mid-range option offering modern and comfortable cabins – each with an ocean view and private en-suite facilities. From Chile you shall be flown to King George Island, in the South Shetland Islands to begin your cruise – this is the only fly-cruise option. Explore the Antarctic Peninsula up close from the zodiac boats that are launched from the ship or simply relax in the glass-enclosed observation lounge.

Polar Pioneer

The Polar Pioneer has a fantastic reputation when it comes to cruising in the Antarctic due to its strength, manoeuvrability and small number of cabins. Don’t expect luxury accommodation, however it is simple yet comfortable, and the meals are wholesome and uncomplicated – all you need when exploring this remote corner of the world! A small fleet of Zodiac boats are launched from the ship so that guests can go ashore to get up close to the Antarctica Peninsula!
