If you are one of those that is wary then let me dispell that fear. Colombia is one of the most friendliest countries I have been to in Central and South America and at no point did I feel unsafe. Now that’s done, my advice is: get there fast before everyone else does!
Still not sure why you’d go to Colombia? Well, aside from the warm and friendly people, the country quite honestly has it all! Incredible natural scenery, ancient ruins, stunning beaches, colonial architecture, mountains, the Amazon, Latin beauty queens…
For me, there are three key places that stand out from my trip:
A beautiful and historic walled city on the caribbean coast that offers some of the best preserved colonial architecture on the continent!
An incredible National Park! Filled with thick jungle and fringed by paradise beaches Tayrona has no roads or big hotels… My top tip is: stay in the EcoHabs for views out across the sea.
The clue is in the name! A beautiful area comprised of rolling green hills covered by coffee plantations. Go here to understand the coffee trade, visit charming little colonial villages, and enjoy the mild climate.
